Funniest thing I've watched in a good minute mate... earned a sub! I got to drive an engine around the train yard for which my mom's friend worked at ~3 in the morning when I was like.... 6(?) years old!!! How many people can say they've engineered (ya know.. other than legitimate RR engineers) but especially that young?! Never once met another kid in any of my school years who got to do that... and believe me, I ASKED.. everyone.. I'm sure that didn't contribute to my aloofness at all!

Super cool stuff! Axial compressor design is tricky stuff, especially at small scale since the specific speed of the spool is very high. For engines of this scale a centrifugal compressor is going to be way more effective and efficient. I wanted to build an axial compressor for microturbines one time, but I realized after doing the math that it wasn’t feasible for anything other than for fun since centrifugal performed so much better. If you want to get more performance than a centrifugal can provide, just add two! You could get up to 12:1 pressure ratios with sequential centrifugal compressors and a single stage axial turbine. Anyways good luck on this project, axial flow turbo machinery is fascinating.

I'm thinking of building a really small one with the diameter of the outer case being like 3 cm, are soda cans thick enough to make the compressor blades? sorry for my ignorance xD
